Does the stigma have something to do with the news of employee overwork leading to death? And do you know when did the company start to focus on pure investment as a business?
The stigma seems to be coming from a multitude of reasons but employees having to go through a very harsh/competitive environment seems to have been an 'open secret' back then. THeir pure investment biz - IR said they only really started to do this more seriously 7 years ago (hence the 7 year IRR) but as far as I'm concern, they seem to have been doing it for much longer..
